Granada Public Transportation Fares in 2025 – All You Need to Know
- Updated fare information, how to get discounts with a bus card, and where to buy one –
Granada is one of Spain’s must-visit destinations, known for its exotic charm and rich cultural heritage.
If you're planning a trip to this beautiful Andalusian city, here’s everything you need to know about public transportation in Granada as of 2025 — including the latest fares, how to save money with a rechargeable bus card, where to get one, and how to ride the bus like a local. 😉
🚍 Public Transportation Options in Granada
While much of Granada can be explored on foot, certain landmarks — like the Alhambra and the Albayzín — are located on steep hills, making public transport especially helpful.
1. City Buses
Buses are the main mode of public transportation in Granada.
There are two types:
-
Standard red city buses (larger, for major roads)
-
Red minibuses (Alhambra buses) designed for navigating narrow historic alleys.
2. Metro
Granada also has a metro line, but it’s less useful for tourists. Only 3 of its 26 stations are underground, and it doesn’t connect well with major sightseeing areas.
⚠️ Note: Metro cards cannot be used on city buses, so you would need two separate cards. For most travelers, buses are more practical.
3. City Tour Bus
This hop-on, hop-off style bus looks like a small train and only stops at major landmarks like the Alhambra, Albayzín, Sacromonte, and Granada Cathedral.
-
Regular bus tickets or transport cards cannot be used.
-
Tickets must be purchased from the driver, bus stops, or online.
-
1-day and 2-day passes allow unlimited travel between stops during the validity period and include Korean audio guides.
4. Taxis
Taxis are also available and operate with meters. While Granada’s buses are efficient, taxis can be convenient if you’re traveling with luggage or unfamiliar with the route.
